Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
Hawaii and Washington State.
I have worked for over two decades in the mental health field and have been honored to work with clients ranging in ages from 3 to 86 experiencing struggles in various areas of their lives. Beginning as a child therapist and working with behavioral disorders, academic challenges and fostercare, I developed a love for working with families. I transitioned after almost ten years to working predominately with systems experiencing divorce, sibling rivalry, estrangement, blended, stepparents learning how to be a healthy family. That valuable work opened the door to couples and adults, which is my passion.
I enjoy working with couples having high conflict, experiencing a rupture and trying to get back to each other. I focus as well on individuals struggling in their life cycle, exploring themselves and eager to work through the transitions. Particular areas of interest are issues around emotional regulation of anger and anxiety, military lifestyle, and overall just trying to figure out where we fit in this world of ours.
Interactive. Solution-focused. Personal.
My therapeutic approach is to provide support and practical feedback to help clients effectively address personal life challenges and complex relationship issues. I integrate complementary methodologies and techniques to offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each client system. You are the expert. We are a team, working together in a safe and compassionate space to create real solutions to make the change you want in your life.
Real Solutions Therapy
My goal in creating a group practice came during the pandemic and the increase need for services. I couldn't keep up with the inquiries of those seeking someone to talk to during quarantine and the subsequent aftermath. I was also noticing an increase in those looking for sliding scale and having difficulty finding therapy that they could afford. I also realized that new therapists and those still in university were also struggling to find clients and gain the experience to provide therapy to those seeking care. I saw a place where we could help each other. Real Solutions Therapy is a combination of Intern Therapists from Accredited Universities enrolled in Masters programs in Marriage and Family Therapy and Counseling Fields and Associate Therapists on track to get full licensure with Washington State. These are vetted quality therapists with a wealth of experience in education and life experience that provide accessible therapy at an affordable rate. We approach the therapeutic process as a team, under my weekly supervision, regular case consults and additional monthly trainings.
